EncourageHer for Military Wives and Moms

Dear Women of Courage -

Our theme for the EncourageHer ministry and thus, our prayer for you, is taken from Psalm 91:1-2: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”

As a military wife or mom with a loved one in active duty, we want to come alongside you through our EncourageHer ministry. It is our hope to encourage you through prayer support, special events and Bible studies.

If you would like prayer support for you or a loved one serving in the military, please visit our Prayer Support page. Your request will come directly to me and we have a prayer team committed to praying for you.

We also hope you can join other military wives in a Bible study/support group on Tuesday mornings starting in September at our Rockrimmon campus. Check out our Bible Study for Military Wives link to learn more about this great way to connect with other military wives in a small group setting.

We also have a Resources page that lists different ministries and resources to encourage you as a military wife or mom.

We hope you will enjoy visiting this website often to find out about special events and ministries geared to military families at Woodmen Valley Chapel and in our community.

If you have any questions, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for the sacrifices that you and your families have made and are making for our country. May you be encouraged to find refuge under the shadow of His wings!

Study for Military Wives and Moms of Military Members

Bible Study & Small Group – for Military Wives and Moms of Military Members

As military wives who are faced with multiple deployments, frequent moves, loneliness, raising our children often by ourselves due to spouse’s absence, wartime threats and so many other circumstances unique to our families, we need to know that God cares and that He is with us both in our trials and triumphs. Our Tuesday morning Bible study offers a chance for military wives and moms of soldiers to connect in a small group setting.

Our new study starting in January 2014

Our New Study for 2014 starting in January:

Becoming Myself: Embracing God’s Dream of You – by Stasi Eldredge

God has dreams—just for you. Becoming Myself is a hope-filled book for anyone who wonders if her life will ever change—if she will ever change. In Stasi Eldredge’s most intimate book yet, she shares her own struggles with self-worth, weight, and her past as she shows readers how God is faithfully unveiling who we truly are. Stasi urges you to lay down your past thoughts about yourself and receive God’s incredible dreams for you instead.

The King of love wants to help us become. God desires to restore us—the real us. As he heals our inner life, he calls us to rise to the occasion of our lives. It's a beautiful paradox. The more of God’s you become, the more yourself you become—the "self" he had in mind when he thought of you before the creation of the world. Discover your truest self—the woman God created you to be—in Becoming Myself.

Thankfully, many of us who attend Woodmen Valley Chapel have had the opportunity to hear Stasi Eldredge speak.  She is a writer and conference speaker passionate about women embracing the value of their heart and life to Jesus Christ and risking everything on that!
