Message from Kevin Feldotto, Pastor of Connecting Ministries
TO: All Guest Center Team Members
Thank You: A huge thanks to each person serving in the Guest Center. It is highly likely that you will be the only person a guest will interact with. They will come away with an impression of Woodmen and God's ministry here based on your interaction with them. That is how important you are to this ministry.

Thank You: A huge thanks to each person serving in the Guest Center. It is highly likely that you will be the only person a guest will interact with. They will come away with an impression of Woodmen and God's ministry here based on your interaction with them. That is how important you are to this ministry.
- Vision: The vision of the WVC Guest Center is to help outsiders take the first step to becoming insiders. If you have been around Woodmen for any length of time, you have a certain comfort level. Visitors have a lot of hesitancy because they don't know people, facilities or cultural norms. Nobody likes feeling they are on the outside. If you can come alongside them and make them feel welcomed and help them understand how to get involved, you have started them on the path of becoming an insider.
- Engage people: Intentionally engage people whenever possible. We should be about relationships instead of information. Many people seeking information are actually seeking a relationship. Ask questions that get them to open up, and then listen.
- Assigned pastors: Don't feel you are alone. We assign 1-2 pastors after each service to be available in the Guest Center to meet people, pray with them and answer their questions.
- The Food Table: We no longer offer any food in the Guest Center. The focus should be on making them feel welcome and not just making food available. We are featuring coffee & bottled water. These will be set up by the Coffeee Bar Ministry during the service. Keep an eye on these things. If any supplies run low, please replenish from the stock under the table. If the coffee pots get low, take them down to the coffee bar to refill.
- Gift bags: Put together extra bags according to the list in the drawer. Make sure there are at least 12 bags pre-made for the next shift. If running low on some items make a note on the checklist and leave it in the plastic box marked Guest Center.
- The Guest Book: The guest book should be on the Guest Center table against the wall. Ask every guest to sign the book.
- Woodmen Welcome: Every single guest should be invited and encouraged to come to the next Woodmen Welcome. It is an excellent opportunity to meet Matt and other pastors, to learn more about WVC & meet other new people. They should put a check in the column in the guest book.
- Discovery Class: For those interested in becoming members or just getting a better understanding of what Woodmen is all about, the Discovery Class is the next step. The little brown accordion brochures in the guest bags explain what each week covers. Take out the brochure and point out what is covered. If interested, they should check the column in the guest book. I tell people that this does not commit them, but simply means we will send them information about the next class
