As security team members, we have been called to serve as physical protectors of Christ’s flock. An imminent or ongoing assault within our worship center or on church grounds must be stopped quickly so as to minimize injury or harm to all parties. This course is designed to equip church security personnel with the empty hands skills necessary to confront, subdue, detain and quickly evict unruly, aggressive and/or combative persons.

This training program addresses the unique challenges of a church environment. It will emphasize speed, simplicity and effectiveness. This nine-hour course will give you the skills to take appropriate and decisive action if and when necessary. These methods have been tried and tested in the real world and are in current use by elite military and Law Enforcement personnel. Our senior instructor, Arthur R. Huerta, M.Ed., has trained some of the best of the best from the U.S. Military and Law Enforcement agencies.

"It is God who arms me with strength … He trains my hands for battle …" Psalm 18:32 & 34
This is a hands-on training course. Physical fitness is helpful but not essential. This course has been tailored to benefit those with limitations of age, strength or agility. Nevertheless, it is physically demanding and not recommended for those with medical conditions that might preclude strenuous physical activity.

The course material is divided into four general sections: a) close-quarter self-defense, b) single and team takedowns, c) restraint and removal techniques, and d) training scenarios. Select drills will be utilized throughout to enhance retention of the material being taught. The final training scenarios will take place in the main sanctuary of the Woodmen Valley Chapel Worship Center.

This workshop is open to any authorized church security team members in the state of Colorado.
