Winter Sports

Catalyst Ministries would like to invite you to attend our winter sports events.

We offer a fun safe way to enjoy the winter sports that Colorado is famous for and to meet new people. Some ski trips will be in a group setting and some will be an informal get together as friends. We will also offer snowshoe trips throughout the winter. All skill levels are welcome. Bundle up, bring the sunscreen and join us for some winter fun!

Snowshoe Outing to The Crags

Saturday, January 31
Meet at 9 am at the Ute Pass Cultural Center in Woodland Park

The trailhead is located about 3 miles up a Forest Service Road off Hwy 67 south of Divide (turnoff about a half-mile south of Mueller State Park). Our guidebook lists the trail distance as 3 miles round trip, easy to moderate in difficulty, with an elevation gain of 800 feet. The road to The Crags is narrow, can be slippery in places, and is plowed only sporadically so four-wheel drive vehicles are definitely recommended. Note that we can carpool from the meeting place to the trailhead.

If you are renting your equipment, please have them show you how to put on your snowshoes in the store, and practice a couple of times at home beforehand. There can be slight differences between brands and how they attach to your boots. Also, have them show you how to hold the poles and adjust the length for your height.

Afterwards, we plan to have lunch together at a café near the Ute Pass Cultural Center.

Please contact Pete at 719.686.1083 (home) or 719.238.5590 (cell) or peteroberts123@msn.com for more information or to let him know you're coming.

Directions from WVC (RR Campus):
Take I-25 south to Exit 141 (Cimarron St.-US 24)
Head west on US 24 to Woodland Park
Turn Right at the light at Fairview Street (Dinosaur Center on left)
Turn Right in the parking lot behind the Ute Pass Cultural Center
