Premarital Workshop

Next workshop scheduled to begin September 8, 2012. Watch for online registration information in July.

This workshop is designed to help you decide about moving forward with engagement/marriage and to build a strong foundation for your marriage. Usually offered twice a year in January and September and registration is limited.

Weekly Homework and Topics discussed: Purpose, Marriage & Love, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Needs, Differences & Expectations, Roles, Responsibilities & Decision Making, Sexual Intimacy, Financial Management and Parents & In-Laws. Three additional sessions provided specifically for Blended Families (i.e. couples with children of any age). Each couple will have a mentor couple during the workshop and will meet with them a minimum of three to four times outside of class to discuss specific issues.

All couples must be able to successfully complete the Premarital Workshop at least three months before your wedding date in order to attend the workshop. In addition, satisfactory completion of this workshop (or comparable sessions with an approved counselor) is required if you plan to be married at Woodmen Valley Chapel or to ask one of the WVC Pastors to perform your wedding. These requirements are outlined in the Premarital manual. If WVC workshop timing doesn’t work with your wedding date you can contact Terri Dole at terri.dole@woodmenvalley.org to obtain names of Christian counselors who provide comprehensive premarital counseling.

You do not have to be engaged or have your wedding ceremony at Woodmen Valley Chapel to attend our Premarital Workshop.

Contact Terri Dole at terri.dole@woodmenvalley.org with questions or for more information.
