Attachment Seminar

Tuesday, February 28
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Woodmen Heights Campus, 8292 Woodmen Valley View,  Room #104

One critical issue that significantly impacts Orphan Care is the affect during early childhood of the frequently difficult circumstances that surround many children who become orphans. The long term consequences for bonding, trust and attachment can complicate the parenting of these children in ways that may be challenging to understand, and frustrating to experience.

The Grafted Vines Attachment Seminar is designed to help current or prospective adoptive/foster parents gain a deeper understanding of this issue. The seminar is designed to be informative, as well as personalized to the issues of interest to the attendees.  During this two hour presentation, we will cover a number of topices including:

     What is Attachment?

     How does Trust develop?

What is the impact of Trauma on Child Development?

     The Neurobiology of Trust

     Colliding Expectations

Do's and Don'ts of Parenting a Traumatized Child

Whatever your current interest/involvement with orphans, this seminar can be a valuable addition to understanding this essential element of Orphan Care.

Credit certificates for 2 hours of training in Attachment are available at the conclusion of the seminar upon request.

Childcare is available with 48 hours notice by calling 719.388.5002.
