You can’t attend Woodmen for long
without hearing an invitation to get involved. Whether it’s down the street, across town, or around the world, there are plenty of ways to join with others in the family of Woodmen as we become the hands and feet of Christ in a hurting world.
You will also hear that we believe the call to serve is more than an invitation. It is a command.
For those of us who call ourselves followers of Christ, serving should be as natural to us as breathing. Reaching out to help can take us out of our comfort zones at times, but even when that happens, we are still doing what we were made to do — loving God and our neighbors, going wherever and whenever He calls us.

At Woodmen, Impact Ministries is made up of the staff and volunteers behind missions and outreach initiatives of many shapes and sizes — from serving the homeless or less fortunate in our community to going on multi-week trips to the other side of the world.
To keep things organized, we divide Impact Ministries into Global Impact and Community Impact, known around Woodmen as “A.C.T.S.” (A Call To Serve).
Global Impact handles our short-term national and international missions trips, and maintains relationships with our strategic ministry partners and missionaries around the world.
A.C.T.S. hits a little closer to home. Helping at the Westside Community Center, serving meals with the Mobile Kitchen and being a part of an A.C.T.S. Saturday event are just a few of the many ways the people of Woodmen are reaching out to our community.
Community Impact: A.C.T.S.
This ministry is dedicated to sharing God’s love and expressing amazement of His Grace in our local community. A.C.T.S. was created in February of 2007 and over 3,000 volunteers have met the needs of a wide variety of folks who need us most. Pastor Matt asked the WVC church body in November of 2006 if anyone in the community would miss WVC if is ceased to exist. God used this message to encourage many of our folks to give countless hours to make a difference in the Colorado Springs area. Please consider letting God bless you as you take care of those in need.
Thanks very much for your interest in this ministry. Help us become the hands and heart of Christ in our community!

Almost everything Impact Ministries does falls into one of four categories: love, share, support and celebrate. Rather than define opportunities by how much time you devote to them or if you need to buy a plane ticket, we think it makes more sense to identify our opportunities by how you really connect with missions — with your heart.
After all, the call to serve isn’t ultimately about numbers, bricks, flu shots or meals served to the hungry, although those things are all very important. Missions is about what happens in the heart — in the hearts of those being served and those serving.
To navigate the many opportunities in Impact Ministries, we have tagged each of our four initiatives (love, share, support and celebrate) with the colors above for quick identification. Just click on thes color-coded words to find out more.
