Way back in kindergarten, we learned that sharing is important. Some things never change. As Americans, many of us are blessed with incredible resources, from financial blessings to skill sets, educations to material blessings. When it comes to sharing, we have more to give than many of us even imagine.
In Impact Ministries, we believe that sharing what we have, even if it is our time, can go a long way in helping us share the most precious thing we have — the good news of Jesus Christ. We call it “servant evangelism.” It is a friendship-driven, relationship-minded way of tangibly showing people the love of Christ as we meet their needs.
This can take many forms. If you can swing a hammer, maybe the Home Repair Team is a place to lend a hand. Serving with our Access ministries on weekends at Woodmen or after-school programs at the Westside Community Center, offer chances to get involved in the lives of the next generation in our city. Globally, our mission trips to Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, Spain and Morocco offer many types of opportunities to use your time, talents and knowledge to bring light and hope to people around the world.
• Access Ministry - Share Christ’s love and faithfulness by helping bring snacks to our Igniters Class on Sunday mornings, providing dessert for our Support Group two Thursday nights of the month, share your gift of worship at camp or in our weekend classes, create fun crafts for our classes and respite programs, or use your unique gifts to add to our programs.
• Young Adults Dominican Republic Trip – Share your heart, story and love of Christ with children in poverty. This trip for young adults is a great opportunity to experience community while engaging with those in poverty.
• Guatemala Trip – An introductory Business as Mission trip to observe and expose team members to small and medium size businesses operating in Latin America. The trip includes face-to-face discussions with the local missionaries and business owners.
• Spain and Morocco Trip – Engage Business as Mission trip to explore developing new business in Spain or advise on improving and enhancing existing small businesses underway in north Africa. The intent of such businesses is to become financially profitable and the profits used to support the local mission agency.
• Friends of Mstyora – A community group of people who have been on a trip to Mstyora, sponsor a child at the Mstyora Orphanage, have an interest in ministering to orphans or an interest in Russia.
• Friends of Compassion - A community group of people who sponsor children, university students or are involved in some way with Compassion International.
• A.C.T.S. - Our Home Repair Team performs work for seniors, single parents, military families with a deployed parent, people facing an emergency financial crisis, physically challenged, grandparents raising grandchildren and WVC Community Partners. Can you install a towel bar? Replace a light fixture? Repair drywall or plaster? Install a faucet? Are you a handyman, painter, plumber or electrician? If you answered yes to any of the above and you have a desire to serve others, we need your help.
• A.C.T.S. - The Westside Community Center is currently being managed by A.C.T.S. Ministry and provides a wonderful opportunity for a wide range of volunteer activities and programs.
• Do you have a skill or hobby you would like to share with other in a workshop setting?
• Could you volunteer at the front desk?
• Do you have a Colorado Commercial Drivers license with a bus stamp? (We need volunteer drivers to pick up children for the After School Program and take seniors on local trips.)
• Would you like to help serve senior meals, help children in the After School Program, help create youth and family events?
God is opening many doors with this facility and we need help sharing our amazement of His Grace to those that enter the doors.
