RR Stone Chapel
… So they and their sons had charge of the gates of the house of the LORD, even the house of the tent, as guards. The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north and south. (1 Chronicles 9:23-24)
Woodmen Valley Chapel would like to cordially invite you to our second, semi-annual Defensive Tactics Seminar.
As security team members, we have been called to serve as physical protectors of Christ’s flock. An imminent or ongoing assault within our worship center or on church grounds must be stopped quickly so as to minimize injury or harm to all parties. This course is designed to equip church security personnel with the empty hands skills necessary to confront, subdue, detain and quickly evict unruly, aggressive and/or combative persons.
This 9-hour training program addresses the unique challenges of a church environment. It will emphasize speed, simplicity and effectiveness. It will give you the skills to take appropriate and decisive action if and when necessary. These methods have been tried and tested in the real world and are in current use by elite military and Law Enforcement personnel.
Our senior instructor, Arthur R. Huerta, M.Ed., has trained some of the best of the best from the U.S. Military and Law Enforcement agencies. To view Mr. Herta's credentials and bio, CLICK HERE.
This is a hands-on training course. Physical fitness is helpful but not essential. This course has been tailored to benefit those with limitations of age, strength or agility. Nevertheless, it is physically demanding and not recommended for those with medical conditions that might preclude strenuous physical activity.
The course material is divided into four general sections:
a) close-quarter self-defense
b) single and team takedowns
c) restraint and removal techniques
d) training scenarios
Select drills will be utilized throughout to enhance retention of the material being taught. The final training scenarios will take place in the Stone Chapel, a small church sanctuary located on the Woodmen Valley (Rockrimmon) campus.
This workshop is open to any authorized church security team members in the state of Colorado. We offer tuition discounts for groups and early registration.
