My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Psalm 42:2 (NIV)

I love how the Psalmist David expressed his thirst for spending time with his God. Even while running for his life in the desert from those who wanted to kill him, David wrote of his passion for his God: “Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” (Psalm 63:1)

A soul that thirsts and longs to meet with God can be very elusive in the clutter of our busy lives as women in the 21st century. My prayer for women at Woodmen is that we will earnestly seek Him every day—not out of a sense of duty but because we’re desperate to know more of Him. May our heart’s cry be similar to the Psalmist’s: “When can I go and meet with God?”
