When I was eight years old, I asked Jesus into my hart. I remember my mom was there after Easter 2007 as we celebrated God coming into my life. Since then, I have been trying to change my behavior and judgment so I can be more like Jesus. I am thankful that God forgives us and accepts us the way we are while we keep trying to be more like Him. I want to be baptized to obey God and so everyone knows I’m a believer.

My life before Jesus was full of bad behavior. My mom and grandmother took me to church and I learned a great deal about who Jesus was and what He did for me on the cross. Since accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I am a kinder person who makes mistakes but now asks for forgiveness. I wish to be baptized because I want everyone to know that I belong to Jesus Christ and to celebrate what He has done in my life.

My life before Jesus was much different. I was mean, would get into trouble and would never pray. My mom would take me to church and I learned about Jesus and how He came to save us. I invited Him into my life to be my Savior. The difference now is I pray with my brother and I’m a lot nicer. I wish to be baptized because I want the whole world to know that Jesus is my Savior.

I always loved the Lord as long as I can remember. I’ve been going to church since I was a little boy, but I chose to follow Christ when I was eight years old. I was in my bedroom at night when I called my mom and dad to tell them I want to follow the Lord. We prayed about following Christ and helping me to be a better Christian. I don’t know the difference without Jesus but I know with Him I’m a better kid, closer to my parents, happy being myself, have better friends to hang out with and I am better baseball player. I want to be baptized to let the world know I’m a Christian. I have eternal life and I will spread the word of Jesus!

Before I asked Jesus into my heart, I was a sinner. One night on the way home from AWANA, I asked my mom and dad how I could become a Christian. I prayed that night to ask Jesus to come into my heart. Now Jesus lives in my heart and I know that I will go to heaven when I die. I want to be baptized to show others that I am a Christian and I have Jesus in my heart.

On a Sunday in the fall of 2000 at Heritage Evangelical Free Church in Castle Rock, Colorado, the children’s ministry did their sermon about God and how He forgave us. At first, I didn’t understand it, so I asked my parents about the story after church. During that week, I was deciding on whether to become a Christian, and talked to my mom and dad more. The more I talked to them, the more convinced I was that it was the right choice to make. After a soccer game, one of my teammates got in a minor wreck and I asked dad if they were OK. He told me not to worry and that God was with them. That night I asked my dad if he could pray with me and that he would be there to witness that I accepted Christ. As I reflect on that day, there will be no better day in the rest of my life. In I Corinthians 2:12-13, it says, “We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.” To me, this shows that we can’t rely on worldly beliefs, but we must follow our true God.

I was five when I accepted Christ. Before that, I was kind of rebellious and didn’t obey very well, but that changed. One day my mom and I were sitting on the couch reading Bible verses and she asked me, “Matthew, do you want to have Jesus in your heart?” So, I said “yes,” and on that day I was saved. After that, I went through another rebellious period and ended up recommitting my life because I know I need Him and He is the only way we can be a better person. Now I think about what I am doing more and trying harder to put God first, others second, and myself last. I want to be baptized because I feel God calling me and I want to be obedient to Him.

Jesus came into my life when my mom asked me if I wanted to have Him in my heart and I said yes. My life has been different because I try to see life as Jesus would. I want to be baptized because I want to tell everybody that I’m a Christian and want to be like Jesus.

When I came to know Jesus I went to my mom and told her that I wanted Jesus in my life and then she prayed with me and I got my life in Christ. Jesus changed my life by making me go to Him for things I need help with. I want to be baptized because I want to show the world that I trust and love the Lord and that I’m a Christian.

I was raised in a Catholic home and was baptized as in infant. We attended mass weekly due to a feeling of obligation and habit. Throughout high school, my Christian friend invited me to a Navigator’s Youth group meeting. I instantly bonded with the people and was captivated by their excitement and enthusiasm towards the Bible, Jesus and fellowship. In college, I continued to explore what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like by attending a weekly small group. Each week, one person would share their personal testimony of how they came to know Christ. I realized that I did not have a testimony, but continued going to weekly meetings in order to hear my fellow group members’ stories. I was extremely touched by one individual’s story and felt a similar connection. I wanted what she now had, after accepting Christ into her life. On December 3, 2000, I spent a day praying alone and asked Jesus into my life. Now that Jesus is the Lord of my life, I now feel a sense of purpose, joy and hope knowing that I have eternal life through grace. Since declaring Woodmen Valley Chapel as my “home” church, I have studied baptism and its meaning. I would like to be baptized to publicly and obediently proclaim that I am a follower of Christ!

Jesus has always been in my family, but Jesus came into my life when I went to preschool and AWANA. Now that I’m getting older, I want Jesus to help me with more things. It seems that when I have Jesus in my heart and scripture in my head, then even hard days are easier! I wish to be baptized because I want everyone to know that Jesus is my Savior!

Being raised in a predominantly Christian family, I was raised to believe in God and attended church regularly as a child. I confessed my faith at 14 years old and attended a local Presbyterian church for most of my adult life. Looking back, I see that I was a “Christian by belief,” for lack of a better description. In recent years, through a chain of events in my personal life that led me to Woodmen, my faith and my life has changed. I have truly let Christ into my life and became a follower of Jesus, not just a believer going through the motions of faith. My life with Christ has changed as it has become a daily walk in everything I do. I try to make it an act of praise, a part of which is choosing to be baptized to proclaim this. Seeing how God has changed my life and the person I was into the person I am now makes me realize that anything is possible through Him. I look forward to every day now, wondering what Christ has in store for me next.

For a long time I’ve been wayward, stubborn and proud. I turned away from God because I wanted to do things my way. My way brought so much sorrow and regret. Recently the Lord touched my heart, softening it to finally see His love and forgiveness. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, I’ve found peace and joy at last. I know that if I follow Christ and always place my trust in Him, I’ll continue to feel His strength and comfort. I wish to be baptized as a display of my commitment to Christ and of my gratitude for His grace and love.

My life before Jesus was like a roller coaster – nothing but twists and turns, speeding out of control. Fear played a big part of my life before I allowed Jesus to take control and became the “pilot” of my soul. I was raised in a church home and grew up with loving Christian parents so I have always known Jesus and He has played a big role in my life. The difference that Jesus has made in my life is amazing. I have learned to see the beauty of the day, and even though there have been dark moments, I know Jesus is there to pull me through. I would be nothing without him and I can do nothing without His help. I was baptized as a young child and wish to be baptized as an adult to show my love and obedience to Christ not only to myself but to others.

I am seven years old and I believe in God and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I have prayed to ask Him into my heart and to forgive my sins. I am very happy I’m forgiven. God has made me very special and I am very fortunate that I have a good life. I want to be baptized because Jesus wants me to. My mom and dad have always told me about Jesus and they pray for me every day that I will grow up to be strong and wise.
