The Main Auditorium at both locations uses very similar equipment, requiring us to schedule 25+ tech, 10+ band and 10+ vocals each weekend. We use Planning Center Online to keep it all straight.

Our candles are Almy Liquid Candles and we use clear glass globes from a local Hobby Lobby.

Dazian Fabrics is where we get our  NuVoile Plus fabric  (winter white, 118 wide, maximum fire-resistan, 9yds+) which takes colored lights very well.

Front of House Mixing & Speakers: We are utilizing Yamaha M7CL-48, Allen & Heath, and Mackie mixing consoles. We use Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW), JBL, and Mackie speaker products in all our venues and in our portable systems.  Crest and Crown provide the power to our speakers.  DBX and BSS Soundweb provide the processing power for our speaker systems.

Mics, In-ears & Monitors: We use Audix and Shure wired mics for micing of drums, instruments, vocals, choir, and recording purposes.  We use Sennheiser, Shure, and Sony wireless mic products and Senneheiser and Sony wireless in-ear systems.  We have also installed Aviom In-Ear systems in our main venues to allow for better control of our stage volume.  We are currently using EAW monitor wedges for our vocals and JBL control series mounted on mic stands for choir monitoring.

Patch Pannels, Recording & EQ: We use patch panels in our main venues to allow for the most flexibility.  We use Tascam, Sony, and Panasonic products for recording and playback.  We use SMAART for EQ'ing all systems on a laptop connected to an EarthWorks microphone. 

Power: SurgeX and Furman are used in all of our venues for power conditioning along with our TrippLite UPS systems.  We have installed power sequencers in all venues to allow for proper power up and down sequencing.

We use Sony broadcast quality cameras with live camera operators.  We have three cameras at each of our two campuses.  A video director at each site switches between the cameras, graphics and the feed from the other campus.  We use Grass Valley 110 switchers but are planning on upgrading to digital sometime in the future.

We record the services with a hard drive recorder and transfer to DVD for archives.

We recently upgraded from T1 technology to Qwest^® Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE).   This allowed us to up our bandwidth considerably.  We use VBrick for video streaming.

Where: The graphics we use vary from week to week—we use previously created (from the Communication Arts team, web sites or our libraries) or create them ourselves in Photoshop.

What: Welcome, guest slides and announcements are coordinated to match the bulletin. When we are doing a series, the bulletin and sermon graphics are coordinated.  Song graphics have a COLOR palate that coordinates with the lights (e.g., reds & purples, blues & greens, oranges & golds). Beyond the color palate, the song graphics are SONG driven (e.g. love, faithfulness, redemption) or SERMON driven (e.g. worship, prayer, new beginning) or consistent with the THEME for the weekend.

Why: At Woodmen Valley, we celebrate the arts. We don’t leave art and creativity outside the walls. The Fireside Gallery is one of the first things people see as they enter our building; we continue this into our worship services. We use colors to evoke moods, images to encourage engagement and music to facilitate interaction with God and each other. We pray that all this allows hearts to be open to what God desires to communicate.

How:  Three screens reside in our sanctuaries. The center screen uses PowerPoint and/or Easy Worship in conjunction with a video switcher to show our other campus and to put up graphics, scripture and videos. The side screens use PowerPoint to show announcements/sermon notes and SundayPlus to show graphics with song lyrics.

Console: We are utilizing ETC 48/96 consoles.  Our dimmer racks consist of ETC and Lehigh for our main venues.

Fixtures: We use multiple fixture brands, but mostly ETC.  We have Wybron NEXERAs for color on our stages.  We currently do not use any other intelligent lighting, but that is most likely coming soon.  We also use American DJ LEDs for our portable and permanent systems in order to do a nice wash of color.

Video Production: Most frequently we deal in the world of standard-definition, so most of our video content is gathered using two Canon XL2s and a Sony 570ws. We also have several consumer-grade cameras that we send with missions trips, lend to our ministry partners, etc.  For camera support we use both Bogen/Manfrotto and Miller fluid head tripods.

For location audio we use a variety of different setups. Primarily we use Sony WRT-805A and WRT-820A wireless lavs, and we also use a couple condenser mics when needed. Our wireless future remains to be seen with some of the bandwidth being swallowed by new FCC regulation. We also can use a boom pole, mic, and a Marantz solid state recorder when we are lucky enough to have a sound guy :) For voiceovers we use a Heil PR40 for great out-of-the-box sound. For larger, sophisticated productions we have a Protools interface.

Our lighting package consists of Lowel Tota, DP, and Omni lights, and various grip accessories (C-stands, umbrellas, mafers, flags, etc.) We also use a Source 4 with different gobos for special lighting effects. In addition we have a greenscreen backdrop for keying effects.

Video Post-Production: Our post-production suite is all about flexibility, so we have the ability to injest HDV, DVCAM, VHS, miniDV, and other analogue formats. We currently run Final Cut Studio 2 and Adobe CS4 on a Mac G5 PowerPC with dual monitors. We master mostly everything on dvd and have the ability to print and duplicate as well.
