Thinking About New Relationships: Loneliness, friendship and dating

Starting Over for Children (1st - 5th Grade)
Adults may not be the only family members who experience divorce or loss. Kids feel the full impact as well. The Starting Over Workshop for Children gives boys and girls an opportunity to connect with other children under the guidance of caring, trained facilitators.

Meeting on the same night as their parents, children in this workshop will hear brief talks and participate in small groups in an active learning environment. Here they can explore and express their feelings about their parents' divorce. Children may attend only when their parent attends Starting Over.

Starting Over for Students (6th - 12th Grade)
The Staring Over Workshop for Students is meant to provide an opportunity for adolescent children to address their own journey in dealing with the relationship dynamics of their family. Students will have the opportunity to engage in group discussion as well as physical activity as means of exploring and expressing their feelings under the care and supervision of trained facilitators. Students may attend only when their parent attends Starting Over.

The workshop is led by licensed therapist, Dr. Barry Ham. Dr. Ham is a marriage and family therapist and has been in practice in Colorado Springs for the past 13 years. He has also provided counseling services to adolescents and their parents in a variety of school and church settings for over 35 years.

Friday, October 8, 7-9 pm
Saturday, October 9, 8:30 am-3 pm

For lots of singles, the search is on for the right mate—the perfect match. We spend so much time and energy looking for the right person that we put little time into becoming the right person. Many times relationships don’t work out because of the growth that needs to take place in us, rather than in the other person.

The Becoming the Right Person seminar at Woodmen Valley Chapel will help you prepare to be the best person you can be in all your relationships, especially with the opposite sex. It provides life changing insight from seasoned, professional counselors who specialize in relational health.

Cost (singles): $30 through Oct 1, $40 after
Cost (couples): $50 through Oct 1, $60 after
No refunds will be given after Oct 1.
Online Registration will begin in September. Check back here for more details.
