IRONMEN of Woodmen Valley Chapel

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27.17


Men, as a follower of Christ, you know that Jesus calls you to live a life of purity – but do you still find yourself in a battle with temptation? Don't you wish that you knew how to find victory? The IRONMEN of Woodmen Valley is designed to equip you to win, with Jesus’ help and the support of your brothers in Christ. Just as "Iron sharpens iron" (Prov. 27:17), IRONMEN helps "men to sharpen men" through confidential accountability groups of three to five, following the steps in "Every Man’s Battle" by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker.

What does the IRONMEN Ministry involve?
First, IRONMEN gives you a chance to join an IRONMEN Group led by a WVC-trained IRONMEN Leader. An IRONMEN Group consists of three to five men who meet once a week and challenge each other to live the way Jesus wants us to live by asking each other the seven questions:

  1. Have you been anywhere with someone of the opposite sex that might be seen as compromising?
  2. Have you exposed yourself to anything sexually explicit?
  3. Have you spent adequate time in the Word?
  4. Have you had any financial dealings that lacked integrity?
  5. Have you spent adequate time with your family and/ or close friends?
  6. Have you sought excellence in your calling?
  7. Have you lied?

IRONMEN will regularly offer content-rich conferences that will equip you to win the battle for purity, including IT and print resources, counseling resources, and a presentation of the IRONMEN Action Plan--a concrete plan for success over temptation.

The Vision of IRONMEN
IRONMEN is more than a collection of accountability groups; it is also network of IRONMEN Group leaders who seek to strengthen men’s commitment to Christ-equipped purity in their lives. As more men shed the guilt and shame that come from yielding to temptation, Woodmen Valley will have more leaders who can serve more effectively through the power of the Holy Spirit.

IRONMEN Ministry also shares resources and strategies with similar programs in other churches across Colorado Springs. With God’s help, we plan to weaken the grip of sin on men's lives in our city, which will strengthen families and churches throughout our community.
