For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Real People, Real Stories
Benjamin Sabo (Rockrimmon)
I accepted Christ when I was 5 yers old but up until college, I never lived my life as though He was part of it. I did thinigs that the typical non-believer does when they are pursuing happiness. When I found that these things did not bring TRUE satisfaction, I began living my life with God. Now I am beginning to see and feel how God wants me to live my life – for Him. The happiness, satisfaction and security He has brought to my life are TRUE. I now delight in doing life with Jesus and I want to show others my commitment to God and that I’ve been marked as a child of Jesus Christ.
Maria Sinda (Rockrimmon)
Baptism is my outward witness that Jesus is the Lord over my life!
Abigail Smith (Woodmen Heights)
I wish to be baptized because I am already a follower. Being baptized is an honor from God and I should, and am, very happy that I’m being baptized. You have to really want to be baptized or else you’re not really making a commitment. I’m making my commitment on May 19, 2007.
Monte Squires (Rockrimmon)
My life has been blessed since the day I was born and now I know with 100% certainty that God is responsible for my life. On May 19th I reach sixty years of age and I have never been baptized. My religious education began with grandparents, parents and my wife. Scott Vaughn has guided me further. Having wonderful children and grandchildren of my own, it burns my soul knowing what God felt when He sent His only son to suffer and die for my sins. I praise God for showing me the path to heaven and life everlasting.
Teressa Stern (Rockrimmon)
My life before Jesus was empty; no matter what I tried I always felt like something was missing. I can’t tell you how many times I asked Jesus to come into my life but four years ago a friend prayed with me in a parking lot and made me understand that Jesus was, is and always will be in me. This has given me peace, strength and hope like I have never known before. I want to be baptized to show that I am a follower of Christ.
Wayne Stern (Rockrimmon)
My life before Jesus was just missing something. Sometimes I didn’t know what that something was but there was always an inner knowledge that there must be more. Jesus came into my life through my wife, not by nagging, but by me seeing her transformation and wanting to be part of it. The difference Jesus has made in my life is peace. Peace in knowing that I am loved unconditionally and that I can’t screw up bad enough to lose that love. I wish to be baptized because I was baptized as a baby but now it’s my choice, my will – not a ritual – but a public showing of my love for Jesus.
Tara Texer (Rockrimmon)
I was raised to believe in Jesus, to know who He was and what He stood for. However, it’s only been the past four years that I have felt a true relationship with Jesus and really feel Him in my heart. This has really made a positive impact on my marriage and how I raise my daughter. Having a relationship with Jesus has given me great joy and comfort for everyday life. It has also given me a sense of peace, knowing I will be with Him one day. I would like to be baptized to show an outward display of what I feel in my heart and the relationship I have with Jesus.
Jason Ulrich (Rockrimmon)
Christ and the church have been part of my life since birth. But the true turning point toward a more spiritual life began during my divorce when I turned my life, thoughts and actions over to Christ and told myself that I was going to be a better person because of this experience. My life, relationships and level of peace have improved dramatically since Jesus has become a focal point. I wish to be baptized to renew my level of commitment to Christ and rid myself of the sins of a broken world.
Mikie Ulrich (Rockrimmon)
I have always had Jesus in my life, more or less. About nine years ago I met a man who had been through very difficult times. He shared with me the peace and strength he gained through his relationship with the Lord. Since then, I have turned my eyes towards Jesus for comfort and guidance in both good times and bad. I feel such an amazing peace with Jesus at my side and I don’t want to live a moment without His grace. I was baptized as a baby, before I knew what baptism really meant. I want to be baptized now, because as a grown adult I want to show my commitment to, love for, and faith in Jesus.
Ryan Ulrich (Rockrimmon)
My life has always had Jesus in it, just not in a very strong way. Jesus finally started coming into my life when I started going to Woodmen. Jesus has really made my life better, easier and more relaxed. I wish to be baptized so people know I belong to God.
Kenzie Winland (Rockrimmon)
My life before Jesus wasn’t at all very bad considering that I was only three at the time, but I was always curious about Jesus since my parents talked about Him a lot. After awhile, I felt the urge to invite Him into my life and so I did. The difference that Jesus has made in my life is that I always feel like I have someone I can talk to and that He will never leave me. I wish to be baptized because I feel that I need to commit an act of obedience and make a promise that, through the good times and the bad, I will always trust Him.
David Wisham (Rockrimmon)
My life before Jesus was short. Thankfully I was introduced to the grace of God through Jesus at the young age of seven. At camp, when I was around 11 years old, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and recognized Him as my personal Savior. Jesus has always loved me and I have always known it. His presence in my life helps me to be a better man. As a symbol of dedication, I want the Lord and everyone to know I commit my life to our Lord.
David Witheridge (Rockrimmon)
I was saved at a young age, therefore my memory of conversion is vague. The person most instrumental in my conversion was my mother, who took me to church every Sunday and taught me about Christ and our redemption through His death and resurrection. Through Jesus I have the strength to do what is right and forgiveness when I fail. Though I was saved many years ago, I have not been baptized and have continually put it off until now. I want to declare through baptism (before my family and the church) my relationship with Jesus Christ.
Tim Wright (Rockrimmon)
I made the decision to trust Christ to be my personal Savior when I was ten years old and have walked with God ever since, but I did not understand baptism until I was an adult. I have been wrestling with being baptized for several years now. During Pastor Matt’s message on May 6, the Holy Spirit prompted me to finally stop wrestling and to take a step of obedience that I never have before. I am excited to mark myself for Christ and to testify that Jesus Christ is my Savior.
