Art With A Purpose
The name of our Visual Arts Community, "imago Dei", is latin for "image of God".
OUR MISSION: To develop fully devoted followers of Christ, utilizing the gifts God has given us through the visual arts; to encourage and inspire one another within the church, throughout the city of Colorado Springs, and beyond.
OUR GOAL: To develop opportunities to incorporate the work of visual artists into the life of the church through art exhibits, worship services, etc.; to train and develop visual artists spiritually and artistically through small group community and special events.
OUR VISION: To establish a community where visual artists can grow in their walk with God, encourage each other in their artistic development and spiritual journey, feel safe in an environment of acceptance, learn to serve others and positively influence the world's view of Christian art.
imago Dei welcomes visual Artists of all skill levels, beginner to expert. All styles, and media including 3D, charcoal, digital, mixed media, paint (oil, acrylic, & watercolor), pastel, photography, pottery, sculpture, and writing.

Fireside Gallery Call for Artists: July 15
The Fireside Gallery at Woodmen Valley Chapel is planning its juried 2008 - 2009 exhibits. All media, including 3D, charcoal, digital, mixed media, paint (oil, acrylic, & watercolor), pastel, photography, pottery and sculpture are encouraged to enter.
Entry Details:
Intake: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Woodmen Valley Chapel, 250 E. Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80919
Park and enter through the lower level east side doors, next to Connections Bookstore
Entry Fee: None
A maximum of five sample pieces can be submitted for consideration which reflect the artist's body of work.
Jurying takes place between 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Same day pickup between 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Exhibit Length/Commitment for each show- Eight Weeks
Minimum number of pieces required per artist for each exhibit: 12
Maximum number of pieces allowed per artist: 45
Minimum 2-D Size including frame - 11" x 14"
Maximum Size 2-D including frame - 60" x 60"
Minimum Size for 3-D entries: 8 in. (Bases must be provided.)
Maximum Size for 3-D: Approx. 28 - 30 in. (Exhibit space is limited.)
Acceptance notification will be mailed within one week after the jury process with details including the show dates assigned for each artist along with a template for the title cards (which is the artist's responsibility.)
