Kindergarteners through second graders at WVC AWANA continue their spiritual training with Sparks. At this age, the truth of the Gospel begins to take root and the excitement of Christ and AWANA causes the children to share this joy with their friends.

After completing an intro booklet (gate-test), Sparkies work (at their own pace) through three books--one each year. Following a nature theme, the books are the Skipper, Hiker, and Climber. Sparky, the firefly mascot, is the guide for each book. By completing approximately 2 sections weekly, a child can complete a book in one year. If a child completes the handbook before the year is over, he or she may continue their memory work in additional workbooks.

At club, the Sparkies enjoy Green Meadow (singing and a story), Sparkle Time (handbook time), and amazing Games (on AWANA's unique game circle). If you want to help your child learn the Sparks Theme song, you can listen to this MP3.

In the winter, Sparkies who have completed 10 sections, are 8 years or younger, and attend 2 out of 3 practices are elligible for Sparks-a-rama (a easier going version of Awana Games.)

Although they work toward red (Bible drills), green (activities) and blue (attendance) jewels during the year, Sparkies end the year with a final award ceremony. After three years in the program, graduating Sparks who have completed all 3 books receive the Sparky Award.
